Botox®

Revitalize your overall appearance with smoother, wrinkle-free skin or get relief from migraines, TMJ pain, or muscle spasms. Botox offers a world of possibilities!

How does it work?

Botox temporarily blocks nerve signals to specific muscles. When injected, it inhibits the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that triggers muscle contractions. As a result, the treated muscles become temporarily relaxed and less active, reducing the appearance of wrinkles or providing relief from conditions like migraines. Though it’s only in your body for a matter of hours, the effects last 3-4 months, after which muscles gradually regain their normal function, making Botox a very safe and effective treatment.

Fractional Skin Resurfacing Laser Treatment

How does it work?

The laser emits tiny, controlled beams of light that create micro-injuries in the skin’s surface; these micro-injuries trigger the body’s natural healing response to promote skin renewal, stimulating the production of collagen & elastin – the building blocks of youthful-looking skin!

With the addition of topical numbing, patients experience exceptional comfort throughout the procedure. While it may sound too good to be true, this treatment lives up to the hype! It's a quick appointment, followed by minimal to no downtime, yet delivers truly remarkable and dramatic results.

How is this treatment different from other lasers?

This process is fractional, meaning it only affects a fraction of the skin at a time; the untouched tissue surrounding the micro-injuries, helps promote faster healing. More aggressive lasers, like CO2 lasers, are more ablative and wipe out the entire top layer of skin; while effective, this makes for an uncomfortable procedure and a LOT of post- procedure downtime. The big differentiator between our laser and other fractional lasers is that ours uses water to cool the skin before the laser beams hit it! This reduces the thermal damage to the skin, making the procedure itself more comfortable and the recovery period easier than other fractional lasers on the market, while still achieving the desired result.

Dermal fillers

How do they work?

Made from hyaluronic acid (HA) that closely resembles the HA naturally produced by our own bodies, dermal fillers are injected beneath the skin's surface to replace lost volume and smooth wrinkles. Whether it's enhancing cheekbones, rehydrating lips, or restoring balance to the face, dermal fillers offer a versatile solution. Unlike procedures where you must wait to see results, filler results are immediate and can last for several years, depending on the type of filler and your metabolism. (Important Note: we ONLY use dissolvable fillers for both safety and to ensure your satisfaction with results).

Like Botox, fillers tend to have a stigma attached to them because of the unnatural results many of us have seen (i.e. duck lips). But conservative, well-placed filler by Dr. Frew should look natural and go undetected! Our goal is to anti-age, rather than augment, so you still look like yourself... but with “a good night’s rest.”

How long does it take to see results?

Unlike Botox, you will see results right away! However, we always encourage patients not to love it or hate it, (especially with lip filler), for 2 weeks to allow for any swelling or bruising to completely subside. The healing process could involve swelling for an average of 3-7 days, depending on the area injected, the amount injected, and your body’s response to the procedure.

KYBELLA

Eliminate stubborn fat beneath the chin (double chin) with a very safe, non-surgical treatment.

How does it work?

The main component of Kybella is synthetic deoxycholic acid, which is a natural acid we produce in our own bodies that breaks down and absorbs dietary fat. When injected into the “double chin” area, Kybella permanently destroys fat cells, resulting in a more contoured and defined jawline. The benefits of Kybella include a noticeable reduction in chin fat, improved facial profile, and a boost in self-confidence.

These biocompatible threads are inserted beneath the skin’s surface in a scaffold pattern; as they gradually dissolve, a boost of natural collagen & elastin replaces them, providing structural support, resulting in revitalized, youthful skin. In certain areas that are too high risk to treat with filler, Smooth PDO threads are a very safe alternative treatment option.

Is it safe?

The #1 biggest thing to provide patient safety is adequate training. The knowledge behind an injector's hand is so so important! That is why we remind patients that you are paying for your injector, not the syringe of product. Having an in depth understanding of facial anatomy, knowing where is appropriate to inject, what product is appropriate to inject in which layer, etc. does not come with just one weekend course on filler. (Yes, you technically only need a day's course to be considered "qualified" to inject filler. Scary, but true.) Ultimately, the best safety measure is a prevention strategy that an experienced and well trained injector will provide. Now, if you want to get technical, there are a handful of things we do to keep you safe whilst injecting:

Aspirating - This is when an injector holds the needle steady and pulls back on the syringe to make sure he/she is not in a blood vessel. If in a vessel, the syringe will fill with blood, which is an indicator NOT to inject in that area. This is an important safety measure injectors should take especially if working in a high risk area! Use of a cannula - A cannula is a blunt-ended instrument that we use in high risk areas in leu of a needle where appropriate. With a blunted end instead of the sharp end of a needle, there is significantly less trauma to tissues, and thus less risk of perforating a vessel and less risk of bruising/bleeding/swelling. Cannulas, if used appropriately, can be much safer in high risk areas where there is a lot of vasculature. While it is untrue that emergencies never occur with a cannula, the risk is much lower. It can also be much more comfortable for patients during the procedure!

Proper cleaning & isolation - Cleaning the treatment and the surrounding areas of your face is so important to prevent bacterial infection. When we say clean, makeup wipes and alcohol wipes are not sufficient. We clean the face with alcohol, then disinfect the area with a product called Puracyn, which is a wound irrigation solution. Then, we follow a strict infection control policy to keep the area isolated and clean throughout the procedure.

Emergency protocol & filler reversal agent - Our office has an emergency kit ready. We always stock plenty of reversal agent and our team has a specific protocol in place for the rare case in which an emergency arises. This is one area of preparedness we hope to never have to use, but we are prepared to manage it.
