Dental Implants in Cincinnati, OH

Enhanced smiles with Dental Implants

Are you missing teeth? You’re not alone – many Americans have replaced missing teeth with dental implants. Every year more than half a million people get dental implants. That’s no surprise considering over 150 million people have lost at least one tooth and the average tooth loss by age 50 is 12 teeth.

Gold Standard Tooth Replacement

At Fred H Peck, DDS in Cincinnati, OH, Dr. Peck and Dr. Frew are dedicated to restoring your confidence by giving you the beautiful smile you’ve always wanted. So, whether you’re missing a single tooth or multiple teeth, they deliver a custom solution to give you a natural-looking, long-lasting smile. Modern dental implants are a reliable, cost effective, and lasting tooth replacement solution.

Benefits of Dental Implants

  • Strong and stable, functions like a natural tooth
  • Beautifully matches your natural teeth
  • Designed to last
  • No more removing teeth
  • Goodbye to slurred speech & limited food choices
  • No impact to surrounding teeth
  • Preserves existing jawbone

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots made of titanium. This is typically the preferred solution for missing teeth to maintain bone health without damaging the surrounding teeth. Through the process of osseointegration, the titanium used in your dental implant biologically fuses with your bone, spurring bone growth to strengthen your jawbone, and ensuring stunning, lasting results. A custom designed prosthesis – a crown, bridge, or denture – is skillfully placed on the implant by Dr. Peck and Dr. Frew to deliver a beautiful natural looking, fully functional smile.

Why Choose Dental Implants?

Implants look great

Dr. Peck and Dr. Frew custom shade and shape your dental implants to fit naturally in your beautiful smile. The only difference between your real teeth and dental implants is that they’re not real.

Implants are easy to care for

Unlike the teeth you were born with, modern dental implants do not decay or get cavities. You need to continue good oral hygiene habits to brush away bacteria and food particles to maintain healthy gums. Oral hygiene is much easier since implants behave like normal teeth.

Implants promote oral health

Different from a tooth-supported bridge, dental implants do not require reducing other teeth to support the implant. With more of your teeth preserved, implants lead to better long-term oral health.

Implants provide a long-lasting solution

Dental implants with Dr. Peck and Dr. Frew at Fred H Peck, DDS are designed as a long-lasting tooth replacement solution. The implant essentially plants new roots in your jaw to help maintain your facial shape and provide long-term bite stabilization. With proper care, implants can last for decades.

Implants are cost-effective

‍Would you rather make a one-time investment in permanent tooth replacement or replace your bridges or dentures every 7 to 15 years? Implants may require a higher investment on the front end, but they also provide a much greater return over the life of your smile.

Are Dental Implants Right for Me?

Dr. Peck and Dr. Frew at Fred H Peck, DDS deliver a comprehensive assessment to see if dental implants are the right option for your smile. Our goal is to give you the smile you’ve always dreamed of with the most conservative approach. There are many factors we consider such as your oral health, medical history, and budget. We want to provide you the best solution for your specific situation and smile.

How it works

1. The Planning

Dr. Peck and Dr. Frew custom shade and shape your dental implants to fit naturally in your beautiful smile. The only difference between your real teeth and dental implants is that they’re not real.

2. The Procedure

Dental implants are placed surgically and require anesthesia. Dr. Peck and Dr. Frew place the titanium post, or artificial root, into your jaw and allow the process of osseointegration to take place and fuse the implant to your bone. The length of the procedure depends on how many implants Dr. Peck and Dr. Frew are placing.

3. The Abutment

After your implant has healed over the next 3-6 months, Dr. Peck and Dr. Frew will attach the abutment. This is a tiny connector that will hold the final crown, bridge, or denture in place. Healing typically takes 1-2 weeks.

4. The Restoration

Depending on how many teeth you need replaced, Dr. Peck and Dr. Frew will place a restoration – a crown for a single tooth, a bridge for multiple teeth, or a denture for a full arch replacement. The restoration will attach to the abutment, and we will adjust it to your bite and polish it to match your smile. You will walk away with a beautiful, natural looking, and fully functional smile.

Experience Stable Implant-Secured Dentures

Are your dentures loose? Do you experience denture pain? Do you have difficulty speaking or eating? Dr. Peck and Dr. Frew are highly skilled in helping improve their patient’s lives with implant-secured dentures. They use carefully placed dental implants to create a customized, implant-retained denture that snaps securely into place. The result is amazing stability that restores the natural function of your smile.

FAQ

How long do dental implants last?

They have the potential to last a lifetime depending on how they are cared for. You will need to continue good daily hygiene habits and see Dr. Peck or Dr. Frew for your regular dental hygiene visits.

How many dental implants do I need?

This depends how many teeth you need replaced. If you have a single missing tooth, one implant with a crown can restore your smile. If you have multiple missing teeth, we will place multiple implants and restore with a dental bridge. If you have a full arch in need of restoration, we can place as little as four implants and secure a denture to those implants to restore your smile.

How much do dental implants cost?

This will depend on your specific smile needs. During our assessment and consultation, we will review what type of treatment plan you will need, and the cost associated with that plan. We will be happy to answer any and all questions about the treatment and cost.

How long is the dental implant process?

From the consultation to your fully restored smile, the process can take anywhere from 4-9 months including healing time in between steps.

Does the dental implant procedure hurt?

The procedure is performed with anesthesia, so you won’t feel any pain during the treatment. There will be mild swelling and soreness for a few days following the procedure, but it can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers and ice packs.

What is the success rate of dental implants?

The success rate for dental implants is over 95%. Placed by a skilled dentist like Dr. Peck or Dr. Frew and with proper care, dental implants are typically a successful solution for tooth replacement.

Does dental insurance cover dental implants?

Dental insurance typically doesn’t cover the cost of dental implants since they classify it as a cosmetic procedure. However, some plans might offer partial coverage based on circumstances, provider policies, and out-of-network benefits. We’re pleased to handle insurance submissions on your behalf and will help you understanding your specific insurance plan to provide clarity on the extent of coverage and help you make informed decisions about your dental treatment.
