Cincinnati Implant-Supported Dentures

Implant-supported dentures designed by Cincinnati’s leading cosmetic dentist, Dr. Fred Peck, look as natural as they feel. Dr. Peck is an Accredited Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and has extensive post-graduate training in implant prosthodontics. We offer a range of options—including implant overdentures, fixed implant dentures, and implant bridges—to suit your individual needs.

Benefits of Implant-Supported Dentures

Implant-supported dentures are affixed to your jaw via dental implants. This keeps them from sliding around like traditional dentures, restoring comfort and confidence to your daily life. In addition to stabilizing your smile, dental implants serve the important function of preventing bone resorption. Bone resorption is the deterioration of your jawbone, which, over time, leads to a condition known as facial collapse. This is what has taken place when a person’s face appears shriveled and aged after losing the necessary facial support that the jawbone provides. But facial collapse poses more than an aesthetic concern: at an advanced stage, it makes comfortably wearing a removable denture impossible, as there isn’t enough bone to hold the denture in place.

Why does bone resorption occur, and how do dental implants prevent it? When all of the teeth are lost, the body begins to break down the jawbone so that the bone material can be used somewhere else in the body to perform a more vital function. But dental implants interrupt this process by acting like tooth roots embedded into the jawbone. The fascinating fact is that where there are implants, the surrounding bone does not deteriorate. So by investing in implant-supported dentures, you’re substantially improving the quality of your life, not just now but for years to come. Implant Overdentures

Implant overdentures replace all of your missing teeth and gum tissue, the way a traditional denture would. They attach to the implants via snaps, allowing you to remove and replace them at your convenience. No more incessant sliding around or embarrassing mishaps!

Fixed Implant Dentures

Fixed implant dentures are securely fixed in place, offering complete stability and comfort. This type of implant-supported denture will make you feel like you have your own natural teeth back. Also called hybrid dentures, fixed implant dentures replace all of your missing teeth and some of the gum tissue.

Implant Bridges

A step up from the hybrid denture is an implant bridge. In this premium restoration, every tooth is replaced with porcelain crowns attached to each other and attached to multiple dental implants. No gum tissue is replaced, making implant bridges ideal for patients with minimal bone loss.

All-on-4: When Bone Quantity Is Low

For dental implants to work, there must be sufficient bone quantity in which to place them. Does this mean that you can’t get implant-supported dentures if you’ve already experienced bone resorption? Thankfully, no. One option is to have bone grafting. Another way to work around the issue of limited bone quantity, Dr. Peck utilizes a technique known as All-on-4. In this method, dental implants are placed at an angle to take full advantage of the bone mass that’s available. It’s called All-on-4 because it often involves the use of four dental implants to support the denture; however, we can and do use this method for any number of implants.
