What Can I Expect On My First Visit?

We’re looking forward to having you for your first appointment with us! Here’s a look at what to expect.
Prior to Your Visit
Before your first appointment, please fill out your medical and dental history online at our Patient Portal.
At your first visit, you’ll have plenty of time to present your questions and concerns to Dr. Peck. Please allow up to 2 hours for this in-depth appointment.
Also, if you are interested in a smile makeover, you may wish to prepare to bring pictures or old photos to show Dr. Peck what you have in mind.
Upon Your Arrival
When you arrive, our front desk staff will greet you. We’ll sign you in and have you fill out our financial forms. You’ll be seated in our reception area until we call you back for your appointment.
Records
At the start of your appointment, we’ll collect a panoramic x-ray (only if needed), detailed full-mouth x-rays (usually), and a 3D intraoral scan.
Meet Dr. Fred Peck
Then you’ll be shown to the consultation room, where Dr. Peck will meet you. You’ll have the opportunity to share your goals or concerns and to ask Dr. Peck any questions you may have. He’ll also go over your medical and dental history with you. He will then take a complete series of photographs to document your current dental conditions. Did you know that Dr. Peck is even certified as a Nikon Professional Photographer in Nikon’s Professional Services?
Comprehensive Oral Exam
Afterward, you’ll head to the exam room with Dr. Peck for an oral examination. This initial exam will be completely thorough and will include:
- Full assessment of teeth and gums
- Bite examination
- TMJ evaluation
- Oral cancer screening
- Signs of sleep apnea and other conditions that affect your oral health and overall health.
Dr. Peck will explain the results of these assessments and will recommend a follow-up consultation to discuss treatment options with you.
Next Steps
After your exam, we’ll schedule your professional dental cleaning, specific to your dental and periodontal needs. We’ll be looking forward to our next visit with you!
