Yelp! To Find My Cosmetic Dentist
I don’t know how to pick between the top three cosmetic dentists on Yelp! I want to get a smile makeover. Someone told me that dental bonding was cheaper than porcelain veneers, so I’m looking for a dentist to do that. How do I know if one of the three dentists are better at bonding than another?

You did not mention what type of smile makeover that you are looking for. If it is a complete smile makeover then I don’t think you will save money by having it done with dental bonding. That particular procedure is better for small repairs such as tooth gaps or chips. Bonding is done free hand and to do it over the entire surface of the teeth would take a LONG time. I think the chair time alone would cost you more.
In addition to that, bonding will not last as long as porcelain veneers. They are not as stain resistant as veneers so you should expect to replace them every few years.
While Yelp! is great at helping you choose some service help, dentists are not one of them. This is because they just base it on ratings in general and not specific services. As an example, I looked up best cosmetic dentists in a random city. I grabbed the top three, as you have done, and did some more digging.
Two of them don’t do any cosmetic work at all. There is no sign of it on their website, but I called just to make sure. One of them doesn’t do any. The other only does occasional teeth whitening, but they don’t even advertise that because they don’t enjoy doing it. The third dentist does cosmetic work and has that on their website, but when I looked into their credentials, it appears they have no cosmetic training. The reason these dentists were rated so high was a variety of they were friendly, worked with patients on payments, and/or were always on time with appointments.
If you want a great cosmetic dentist, look for one who is an accredited fellow with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. They are the top cosmetic dentists in the country.
